The matter has been taken up through video conferencing in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking issuance of appropriate directions to the respondents No.2 and 3 to get released detenue namely Pawanpreet Kaur (minor), daughter of the petitioner from illegal detention of respondents No.4 to 7. In consonance with the order dated 04.06.2021, ASI Manpreet Kaur has produced detenue Pawanpreet Kaur through Video Conferencing and on her identification, Pawanpreet Kaur has also made statement that during the course of investigation of the case bearing FIR No.32 dated VINEET GULATI 2021.06.07 16:51 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP No.5097 of 2021 -229.05.2021, under Sections 363 and 366-A IPC, Police Station Ajitwal, District Moga, she has been recovered from the custody of respondent No.4, who has since been arrested and thereafter, she has been handed over to her mother Kulwant Kaur. She also stated that at present, she is residing with her mother Kulwant Kaur, who is present petitioner. The statement, so made by the detenue Pawanpreet Kaur has also been endorsed by Ms.Samina Dhir, DAG, Punjab. She also submits that respondent No.4 has since been arrested. The aforesaid fact has also been endorsed by learned counsel for the petitioner.

The photocopies of educational certificate and Aadhar Card of Pawanpreet Kaur, which have been annexed with the petition, reveals that her date of birth is 04.06.2003. As such, the detenue has attained majority and presently, she is living in the company of her mother Kulwant Kaur. In view of the aforesaid facts, no further action is required in the present petition. As such, the present petition stands disposed of.
