On 27.03.2026, the following order was passed: - "1. The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to the respondents to reconstitute Haryana State Haj Committee in terms of Section 22 of the Haj Committee Act, 2002 (for short '2002 Act'). He is further seeking declaration to the effect that continuation of respondent No.4 as Chairperson of the Haryana State Haj Committee is illegal.

The Government of Haryana exercising powers under Section 18(1) of 2002 Act vide notification dated 08.09.2022 constituted Haryana State Haj Committee comprising 16 Members. On 31.10.2022, respondent No.4 was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the said Committee. As per statutory provisions tenure of Chairperson is 3 years. As per Section 20 of 2002 Act, term of office of Members of the State Committee is three years. Tenure of respondent No. 4 expired on 30.10.2025. Despite expiry of his tenure, he is still holding SUDEEPAK KUMAR 2026.04.18 14:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document the post of Chairperson. Section 22 of 2002 Act necessitates

-2CWP-9215-2026 the State Government to reconstitute State Committee at least four months prior to the expiry of the term of the existing committee. The petitioner preferred representations dated 24.01.2026 and 20.03.2026 to Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana requesting to reconstitute the Committee but to no avail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the petition with liberty to file afresh or avail any other appropriate remedy. 3.
