Mr. S.S.Brar, Advocate for the complainant/injured. **** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The petitioners seek regular bail in FIR No. 194 dated 17.7.2020 under Sections 307, 341, 323, 148, 149 IPC registered at Police Station City Sunam, District Sangrur.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though the petitioners have been attributed injuries on the shoulder and head of Rohit Kumar but now a compromise has been effected between the parties; that the present FIR is a counter-blast to FIR No. 35 dated 1.2.2020 under Sections 307, 323, 324, 148, 149 IPC, Police Station City Sunam, District Sangrur, got registered by Balvir Singh; and that the petitioners have been in custody since 30.3.2021.

Learned State counsel submits that the injury attributed to petitioner Amandeep Singh @ Amni is on the shoulder, whereas the injury attributed to Jagseer Singh @ Seera is on the left jaw of Rohit Kumar but he has not disputed the fact that the petitioners are in custody since 30.3.2021. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. It is a case of version and cross-version. The parties have entered into a compromise on 23.4.2021. The petitioners have been in custody since 30.3.2021. The trial will take time to conclude because of Covid-19 pandemic. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioners behind the bars.

Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioners are ordered to be released on bail on their furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
