Learned counsel for petitioners has placed on file decree of divorce allowed by Family Court, Karnal, whereby first marriage of petitioner no. 2-Sanjay with Pooja daughter of Radha Krishan was dissolved. Petitioners now seek protection to their life and liberty with the plea that they have married against wishes of parents of petitioner no. 1, who are not happy with this marriage and are giving threats to eliminate both of them. A representation dated 15.09.2017 (Annexure P-6) seeking protection to life and liberty of petitioners was made to Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra.
Learned counsel for petitioners confines the relief claimed in this petition only for direction to respondent no. 2-Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra to look into the representation (Annexure P-6) and take Sachin Mehta 2017.10.06 10:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH

In view of submissions of learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra to look into the representation dated 15.09.2017 (Annexure P-6) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
