Present contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 18.12.2018 passed by this Court in CWP-23944-2015 titled as Kewal Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others. Learned counsel for the petitioners argues that the time period granted by this Court for implementation of the above-said order has already elapsed, but no arrears have been released to the petitioners so far by the respondents.

COCP-1269-2020 -2proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondents. Learned State counsel, on instructions from Dr. Shaminder Singh Kang, Nodal Officer Litigation, office of Director Health & Family Welfare, Punjab, submits that the order dated 18.12.2018 passed in CWP-23944-2015 will be complied with within a period of four weeks from today positively, in case the same has not already been complied with.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that keeping in view the undertaking of learned State counsel, recorded above, he does not want to press this petition any further, but seeks liberty to approach this Court in case the above-said undertaking is also violated by the respondents.
