The instant petition has been filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.34 dated 03.02.2024 (Annexure P-1) under Sections 406, 420 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 read with Section 13 of Punjab Travel Professionals (Regulation) Act, 2014, registered at Police Station Rama Mandi, Jalandhar.

Vide order dated 19.04.2024, the petitioner had been granted interim anticipatory bail by this Court, with direction to join investigation and the relevant part of the said order reads as under:- "Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the FIR in the present case has been got registered by the complainant by coining a false version. In fact, the complainant and petitioner were employed in the office with PNB Met Life Insurance Company in April 2022. He further contends that even though the various amounts were paid by the complainant through the bank account of the petitioner, but it is clearly reflected that the money was never paid for sending the complainant abroad.

He further contends that there were certain financial transactions between the complainant and the petitioner and the petitioner has no connection with any travel agency or with Puneet Kumar, to whom, the documents were handed over by the complainant for sending him abroad. He further contends that in fact in the peculiar facts of the present case, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner may not be required."
