JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. Petitioners claim to have submitted a representation (Annexure P-7) dated 3.6.2021, in this regard to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sonipat, Haryana as well as to the SHO, Police Station, Gohana, District Sonipat.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Pawan Longia, DAG, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Copy stands supplied. The petitioners have placed on record the copy of Aadhar Cards as well as educational certificates (Annexures P-1 to P-4) as proof of their age. Copy of certificate (Annexure P5) as well as photographs (Annexure P-6) regarding performance of marriage have also been placed on record.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 - S.H.O., Police Station Gohana, District Sonipat, that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties. June 9, 2021.
