RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in a case arising from FIR No.38 dated 07.08.2018 registered under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station STF, Phase-4, SAS Nagar, Mohali. According to the prosecution, on 07.08.2018, petitioner was apprehended with one countrymade pistol, eight live cartridges, `2,05,000/- and 260 grams of heroin.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner has falsely been implicated. Petitioner was arrested from his house, but his arrest has falsely been shown on the road. Petitioner is in custody since 07.08.2018. Conclusion of trial may take a sufficient long time. No useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner any more in jail.

Heard.

Considering the recovery of heroin, countrymade pistol, live cartridges and `2,05,000/-, petitioner does not deserve the concession of regular bail.

Dismissed.
