Petitioner Som Raj, Retired Station Supervisor-1, from Punjab Roadways, SAS Nagar, Mohali/Ropar, has filed a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the pension and pensionary benefits including gratuity, computation of pension, leave encashment, GPF etc. w.e.f. the date of retirement i.e. 31.12.2019, and its arrears accruing thereon alongwith interest @ 18% per annum.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, it would be proper and appropriate, if the matter is dealt with at the departmental level first, to avoid unnecessary litigation. Therefore, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner Annexure P-4 within a period of two months from today, in accordance with law, by passing a speaking order. In case the petitioner is not satisfied with the order so passed in the representation and still nurses any grievance, then he may approach the Court again in accordance with law. ( H.S.
