Through the present petition filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C., the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in FIR No. 90 dated 12.02.2016, registered under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B IPC, at Police Station Model Town, District Panipat.

The allegations in the complaint are that the petitioner took from the complainant ` 15 lacs by assuring him that through tantrik kriya, he would triple such amount. When request was made by the complainant to return the money, the accused refused to do so. Learned State counsel submits that for the last about one year, the petitioner has been absconding and in spite of best efforts put in by the Monika 2017.01.16 17:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Crl. Misc. No. M-37008 of 2016 police, he has been managing to evade arrest. He further submits that the petitioner had also forced the complainant to sign an affidavit to the effect that no money was due from the accused to the complainant. He was thus influencing the star prosecution witness and interfering in the investigation. In view of the above, but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter lest it may prejudice either of the parties during the course of the trial, I do not consider this case to be a fit case for grant of anticipatory bail.

Dismissed.
