The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to count the service rendered as Special Police Officer for qualifying service for the purpose of pensionary/retiral benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, inter alia, contends that case of the petitioners are squarely covered by Division Bench judgment of this Court in Harbans Lal Vs. State of Punjab in CWP No.2371 of 2010 and in Sukhjit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others in CWP No.9936 of 2017.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab who on advance notice is present in Court submits that in terms of judgment of Division Bench of this Court in Harbans Lal (supra), the respondent authorities in the case of various officials have considered their claim and passed orders. He further asserts HIMANSHU 2024.04.25 17:00 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment.

CWP-9302-2024 -2that appropriate authority would consider case of the petitioners in terms of judgment of Division Bench of this Court in Harbans Lal (supra) and pass an appropriate order within 3 months from today. 4.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the present petition stands disposed of.
