The present petition has been filed for quashing the order dated 19.08.2021 (Annexure P5) passed by respondent No.2. 2.

Learned counsel would contend that the case of the petitioners for stepping up their pay equal to their juniors, was put on hold only on account of pendency of CWP-28434-2019 which has now since been decided by this Court vide order dated 15.02.2023 (Annexure P6). Thus, the claim of the petitioners requires to be considered at the hands of the respondents. 3.

Notice of motion.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. Manipal Singh Atwal, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to relook into the matter.

In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the claim of the petitioners afresh within a period of 3 months, taking note of the subsequent development, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith.
