The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail, who has been declared as a proclaimed offender vide order dated 07.09.2017 passed by learned Court below, in case FIR No.86 dated 13.06.2014 registered for the offence under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (hereinafter referred to as `the NDPS Act') at Police Station Dehlon, District Ludhiana. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and and have gone through the record.

From the record, I find that the present petitioner absented from the Court proceedings on 21.10.2014. Thereafter, he was declared as proclaimed offender vide order dated 7.9.2017 passed by learned Court below.

Cr. Misc. No.M-37283 of 2018 [2] Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case and in view of the fact that the petitioner absented from the Court proceedings for such a long period without any cogent explanation, I do not find it a fit case where the petitioner is entitled for the grant of anticipatory bail.

Therefore, finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed.
