Instant writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by 74 years old widow praying for issuance of direction to the official respondents No.1 to 4 for protection of her life and liberty at the hands of her relatives, i.e., respondents No.5 to 7. In response notice issued to respondents No.1 to 4, status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Phillaur, District Jalandhar Rural has been filed, wherein, it has been inter alia stated as under:- "8. That it is submitted here that all the children of the SAVITA KADIAN 2021.07.13 16:41 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court Chandigarh
CRWP No.4709 of 2020 {2} petitioner are residing abroad and she is staying alone in the village Uppal Bhupa, Tehsil Phillaur, District Jalandhar. Therefore, the concerned police officials have been directed to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner be protected against any danger at the hands of respondents No.5 to 7 or any other person."
In view of the above, no order is called for. Petition is disposed of.
