Through this petition, the petitioner seeks regular bail in case bearing FIR No.488 dated 08.12.2020, registered under Sections 379-A and 120-B IPC, at Police Station Civil Lines Karnal, District Karnal, Haryana. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has falsely been implicated in the present case; that the petitioner was not recognized/identified by the complainant; that the alleged recovery has already been effected from the petitioner and that the petitioner has been in custody since 20.01.2021.

Per contra, while opposing the prayer for grant of regular bail to the petitioner, learned State counsel submits that the petitioner is a person with criminal antecedents, inasmuch as, there are 3 more FIRs registered and pending against him, the details of which are as under:- AMAN JAIN 2021.09.22 05:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-24053-2021 -21. FIR No.508 dated 22.12.2020, registered under Sections 379-A and 120B IPC, at Police Station Civil Lines, Karnal.

2. FIR No.626 dated 02.12.2020, registered under Sections 379-A and 120B IPC, at Police Station Civil Lines, District Karnal.

3. FIR No.632 dated 23.10.2020, registered under Sections 379-A and 120B IPC, at Police Station City, District Karnal. Learned State counsel further submits that in FIR No.632 dated 23.10.2020, the prosecution agency is possessed of a CCTV footage in which the petitioner was seen snatching the chain along with locket of the complainant in the said FIR.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. As noticed above, the petitioner is a habitual offender with brazen criminal antecedents. Thus, enlarging the petitioner on bail would be a threat to the security of the society at large as he might involve himself again in many criminal activities of similar nature or otherwise. Thus, no ground is made out to grant the concession of regular bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, present petition is dismissed.
