[1] The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

[2] This is a petition seeking regular bail in FIR No. 331, dated 17th December, 2019, under Sections 307, 382, 341, 323, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station City Faridkot, District Faridkot.

[3] The FIR was registered against the unknown persons. It was stated by the complainant-Harjinder Singh that on 16th December, 2019, while returning from Chandigarh, he boarded the Truck as he could not get in the Bus. While coming on foot to the place where he had parked his motorcycle, near the turn of Baba Farid Avenue at about 11/11:15 P.M., three persons each on two motorcycles stopped him. CRM-M-23125-2021 -2Accused were armed with Kapas and iron rods. They started beating him and snatched his wallet containing Rupees Three Thousand cash, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, RC of Car and School Bus, ATM card, Identity Card and touch-screen phone.

[4] Mr. S. S. Maini, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that co-accused against whom there are similar allegations, have been granted bail by this Court. No specific role is attributed to the petitioner and no recovery was made from the petitioner. [5] Ms. Monika Jalota, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab though opposes the prayer, fairly submits on instructions, that petitioner is at parity with Veer Singh @ Prince, Vijay and Jagdeep Singh @ Babbu, so far as granting bail is concerned.

[6] Without commenting on the merits of the case, considering that the investigation is complete, conclusion of trial is likely to take time and co-accused have been granted bail, the petitioner is granted bail subject to furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate concerned. [7] The petition is disposed of.
