**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Due to the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19, the instant case is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing. Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3, to provide protection of life and liberty to the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 8.

In compliance to the order dated July 15, 2020, the learned State counsel has filed the matriculation certificate issued by the Punjab School Education Board, in support of her actual date of birth and a copy of the statement of respondent No. 5 - Kulwinder Kaur (mother of petitioner No.1). As per the matriculation certificate, the date of birth of petitioner No.1 is 08.07.2003, according to which petitioner No.1 is 17 years & 18 days old as on date. Further, in her statement, respondent No.5 (mother of petitioner No.1) has stated that she & her family have no objection to the alleged marriage, which has been solemnized by the petitioners. In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he would not want press the present petition.

Dismissed as not pressed.
