The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioner at the instance of respondents No.4 to 7.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that the petitioner, a 60-year-old woman with health issues, resides with her husband in Bhatnura, Kapurthala. Her son, Shally Gill, married Kulwinder Kaur (respondent No. 4) in December 2021, but due to some dispute, Kulwinder Kaur left the petitioner's home in the month of October, 2023 along with valuables and cash. Thereafter, the petitioner's son demanded money and even threatened to sell her house. When she refused, both her son and daughter-in-law assaulted her. The petitioner disowned them in the month of February, 2024. CRWP-3219-2025 and others harassed the petitioner, forcibly entered her home, damaged property, and threatened her. Despite reporting the matter and filing a representation with jurisdictional police authorities on 21.03.2025, no action has been taken.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, in case a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 21.03.2025 (Annexure P-1) submitted by her in a time bound manner. 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 - State. Learned counsel for the petitioner is directed to supply copy of complete paperbook to counsel opposite during the course of the day. 6.

Keeping in view the prayer made by the petitioner and without commenting anything on the merits of the case, present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 21.03.2025 (Annexure P-1) submitted by the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law.
