...Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab
...Respondent
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Mr. Vivek K. Thakur, Advocate for the petitioner. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, AAG, Punjab.
*** After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner stated that he would be satisfied if a direction be issued to the trial Court for expeditious disposal of the case. Expeditious disposal of the case is right of every litigant. Learned State counsel informs that out of 9 witnesses 2 have been examined. The trial Court is directed to make earnest efforts for expeditious disposal of conclusion of the trial preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order. Short adjournments be given and prosecution shall cause appearance of the prosecution witnesses in the Court without making any excuse like the official witnesses being busy in law and order duty, VIP security etc. The learned State counsel has been informed accordingly. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that he be allowed to withdraw the petition.
Dismissed as withdrawn.
