 The petitioner is a victim of sexual exploitation on the part of respondent No. 2, on the pretext of marriage while he was already married. On account of repeated sexual assaults, she became pregnant and gave birth to a male child. An FIR No.188 dated 08.08.2020 under Sections 376/506 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 read with Section 6 of POCSO Act was registered at Police Station City -I, Abhor. Learned Session Judge, Fazilka vide judgment dated 30.09.2021 sentenced accused to imprisonment of 10 years. District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka vide order dated 21.10.2021 awarded compensation of ₹4,00,000/- to the victim and ₹3,00,000 to the minor child.
