M.M.S. BEDI, J. (ORAL) This is a petition for quashing of FIR No.162 dated 17.6.2014, under Sections 406 & 498-A IPC, registered at Police Station, City, Barnala, on the basis of compromise. Said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent No.2 Jaswinder Kaur alleging that the petitioners had maltreated her. The parties were directed to appear before the Chief Judicial Magistrate on 29.1.2015. A report has been received to the effect that the matter has been compromised. The parties have already parted company by obtaining divorce under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act. Following the judgment in case Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab, 2007(3) RCR (Crl.), 1052 and

CRM-M-37528-2014 (O&M) B.S.Joshi & Others Vs. State of Haryana & another , 2003 (2) RCR (Crl.), 888, this petition is allowed. The above said FIR and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise.
