The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the official respondents so as to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of the private respondents No.9 to 15.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondents No.9 to 15 claim that some amount is due to be paid to them by the petitioner, whereas no such amount is to be paid and that they have now been threatening to cause harm to the petitioner so as to extract money from him. Learned counsel further submits that although the petitioner had submitted representation dated 27.3.2023 (Annexure P-9) to the authorities concerned, but to no avail. 3.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner but while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.04.25 17:58 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP-3920-2023 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2023:PHHC:057960 averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.5 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka (Punjab) to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 27.3.2023 (Annexure P-9) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest.
