**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect his life and liberty from the hands of private respondent.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was in live-in relationship with respondent No. 4 and a compromise dated 24.10.2020 was also executed between them. He further submits that even though the petitioner gave all rights to respondent No. 4 at par with his first wife but still she continued to extract money from the petitioner. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner has also moved a representation dated 18.5.2021 (Annexure P-4) to the police authorities but no action has been taken on the same till date.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner confines his arguments to the extent that he would be satisfied if Senior Superintendent of GURPREET SINGH 2021.06.24 15:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh Police, Sangrur-respondent No. 2 is directed to decide the representation

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Avtar Singh Sandhu, Addl. A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State. Without adverting to the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrurrespondent No. 2 to look into the representation dated 18.5.2021(Annexure P-4) moved by the petitioner and decide the same within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, as per law.
