HARPREET SINGH BRAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, is for issuance of direction to respondent No.2 to set-aside all the police proceedings pending against the petitioner. Learned State counsel, at the very outset, submits that it is not a case of multiple inquiries. Earlier the matter was investigated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Amritsar. Thereafter, in terms of the Notification dated 01.04.2008 (Annexure P-8), the Director General of Police, Punjab has entrusted the investigation to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Amritsar. He further submits that the petitioner would be associated in the enquiry and the enquiry would be concluded by the Investigating Officer expeditiously preferably within a period of 04 months. CRM-M-18198-2025 Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied in case the Enquiry Officer is directed to issue a notice under Section 160/41-A of Cr.P.C., for associating the petitioner in the enquiry.

In reply, learned State counsel submits that the Enquiry Officer will do the needful, in accordance with law. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Enquiry Officer to conclude the investigation within a period of 04 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
