**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) The petition has been taken for hearing through video conference due to Covid-19 pandemic.
In the present writ petition, the challenge is to the order dated 08.07.2020 (Annexure P-8) by which the petitioner has been transferred from District Ambala to District Kaithal.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is going to superannuate on 30.09.2020 and he has been transferred when he is nearing his retirement, whereas, the employees, who are near to their retirement, are allowed to continue at the station of their choice. Notice of motion.

-2who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondents.
Learned State counsel states that he has the instructions to submit that the order of transfer of the petitioner will be reviewed by asking the petitioner to give his choice of posting keeping in view the fact that he is nearing retirement and an appropriate order of fresh posting of the petitioner will be passed keeping in view the option exercised by him, in case the same is required to be passed.
Learned State counsel further submits that petitioner be directed to submit his option within a period of seven days from today and the appropriate order on the said option will be passed by the respondents within a period of two weeks thereafter. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner intends to continue at his present place of posting at District Ambala till his retirement.
Learned State counsel submits that keeping in view his option exercised during the present hearing to continue at his present place of posting in Ambala till his retirement, the said request will be considered by the concerned authorities and in case found feasible, an appropriate fresh order with regard to place of posting of petitioner will be passed within a period of two weeks and till then, he will be allowed to continue at his present place of posting at Ambala. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that in view of the statement of learned State counsel, grievance of the petitioner stands
-3redressed and he does not want to press this writ petition any further. Present petition is disposed of having not pressed. It is made clear that respondents will be bound by their statement recorded above.
