**** RAMESHWAR SINGH MALIK J. (ORAL) Petitioner, by way of instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeks appropriate direction against the respondent authorities to ensure fair and effective investigation in FIR No. 429 dated 23.10.2015 under Sections 148/149/341/323/506 IPC, registered at Police Station Sector 39, Chanidgarh. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is receiving repeated and serious threats to his life and liberty as well as to his family members at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 6. She further submits that the investigating agency is not taking any interest in conducting fair and effective investigation in the abovesaid FIR. She concluded by submitting that given an opportunity, petitioner shall approach the Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh-respondent No.2 by moving an appropriate representation within a period of one week from today and respondent No.2 may be directed to consider and decide the same within reasonable time.

CRM-M-37613 of 2015 (O&M) Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, lest it should prejudice the rights of either of the parties, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh-respondent No.2 that if the petitioner approaches him by moving an appropriate representation within a period of one week from today, he shall consider and decide the same at an early date by passing an appropriate order thereon, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of representation from the petitioner. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarhrespondent No.2 is further directed to ensure that no harm is caused to the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 6 or anybody else on their behalf. He shall also ensure that an early and effective investigation is conducted in the abovesaid FIR.

With the abovesaid observations made and directions issued, present petition stands disposed of.
