***** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein, inter alia, seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondents No.1 and 2 to promote the petitioner as Lecturer English on notional basis alongwith all consequential benefits w.e.f. 30.05.2008 i.e., the date when her juniors were promoted.

Petitioner was initially appointed in master cadre as Social Science Mistress in the respondent department. Petitioner's claim is based on the fact that since she had also acquired the qualification of M.A. (English), she is eligible for promotion to the post of Lecturer English but she was not promoted by the respondent department till her retirement.

Qua the aforesaid grievance, petitioner also sentlegal notice dated 25.03.2022 (Annexure P-3) but the same has not been adverted till date.

On advance service, learned State counsel appears and submits that a decision will be taken by competent authority, either way, on the pending legal notice dated 25.03.2022 (Annexure P-3) by passing a speaking order.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner also seeks decision on the pending legal notice, as suggested by learned State counsel.

Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to look into the legal notice dated 25.03.2022 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and pass an administrative order, in accordance with law. 8.
