(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 to 4 to initiate appropriate action against respondents No. 5 to 7 and to protect their life and liberty from the hands of respondents No. 5 to 7.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners confines his arguments to the extent that he would be satisfied if Commissioner of Police , Ludhiana-respondent No. 3 is directed to decide the representation dated 13.6.2021 (Annexure P-2) in a time bound manner. Notice of motion to the State-respondents No. 1 to 4 only at this stage.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Gaurav Garg Dhuriwala, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State and contended that the representation will be decided within a month. CRWP No. 5609 of 2021 -2the threat perceptions will also be looked into. Keeping in view the averments made and without adverting to the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana-respondent No. 3 to look into the representation dated 13.6.2021 (Annexure P-2) and decide the same within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, as per law.
