  **** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Through this petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No.1 and 2 to promote the petitioner as Principal (school Cadre) w.e.f. 31.05.2017 i.e the date when his juniors (respondents No.4 to 6 herein) have been promoted. Learned State counsel, while emphasizing upon the reply dated 05.12.2019, submits that the Department has considered the seniority of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) as on 05.04.2017 upto serial No.1336 and promotion till that serial number has been made. He further submits that the petitioner stood at serial No.1431 and that respondents No.4, 5 and 6 stood at serial Nos.1303, 1304 and 1311, respectively; that only the persons senior to the petitioner have been promoted as Principal on 31.05.

2017 and that the petitioner has retired from the service as PGT Commerce on 30.04.2019. Still further, it is submitted that one Phool Singh (011708), who is immediate junior to the petitioner, has also not been promoted as Principal by the Department.
