Mr. Karan Vir Nanda, Advocate, for respondent No.8. PARAMJEET SINGH, J. (ORAL) Instant petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioners from respondents No.4 to 7. The petitioners assert that they are major and as there is no legal impediment, they have got married. They have already moved application dated 14.11.2013 (Annexure P-5) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Mini Secretariat Jalandhar, District Jalandhar, for protecting their life and liberty. On 06.04.2015 following order was passed by this Court: - "Learned counsel for the petitioners, after seeking instructions from petitioner no.2 states that in order to show his bona fide, petitioner no.2 will make payment of ` 20,000/- to his Ist wife-respondent no.8 (Husna) through bank draft within 30 days. Initially, he will make payment of ` 10,000/- through bank draft within 15 days and remaining ` 10,000/- RAVINDER SINGH 2015.05.12 10:34 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

In compliance of the order dated 06.04.2015, petitioner had handed over the demand draft of ` 10,000/- to respondent No.8 and demand draft No.902552 dated 07.05.2015 for remaining amount of ` 10,000/- has been handed over to respondent No.8 today, photocopy of which is taken on record.
In view of above, present petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to approach concerned police authorities for protection as per instructions dated 10.08.2010 issued by the Home Department, Punjab, in this regard. Police authorities shall verify the facts. If required, petitioners will be provided adequate security. The petitioners shall not be arrested in this case. However, this will not prevent the concerned police authorities or other authorities to proceed against the petitioners in accordance with law, if they are found involved in any other case.
It is made clear that this order is qua protection only and shall not be construed that the petitioners have contracted legal marriage. They have to prove legality of their marriage in appropriate proceedings. (Paramjeet Singh) Judge May 11, 2015 R.S.
