The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

This petition was filed for issuance of directions to the official respondents No. 1 to 3 for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents No. 4 to 7 arrayed in the petition.

As per the pleadings, the petitioners had performed marriage against the wishes of their parents and there was a threat perception.

On 21st June, 2021, the following order was passed:- "The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation. Notice of motion.

CRWP-5595-2021 -2Learned counsel for the U.T. Chandigarh submits that statement of father of girl was recorded and he has no objection to the marriage solemnized. The mother of the petitioner No.2 stated that petitioner is not residing with her, hence, statement of petitioner No.2 could not be recorded.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.2 at present is residing with his cousin and he will ensure the presence of the petitioner No.2 in the office of Sr. Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh, for recording of statement.

Put up on 25.6.2021."

Learned Addl. P.P., U.T., Chandigarh has sent statements dated 22nd June, 2021, through electronic medium, of both the petitioners, father and brother of petitioner No.1 recorded by the office of Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T., Chandigarh, print out of the same is taken on record. It is stated therein that now the family of petitioner No. 1 does not have any objection to the marriage solemnized.

In view of statement made, no further directions are called for.

The petition is disposed of as infructuous.
