CRM-M-19167-2020 (O & M) Date of decision: 21.09.2022 Jagdev Singh ...... Petitioner V/s State of Punjab
...Respondent
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JASJIT SINGH BEDI
Present:
None for the petitioner.
Mr. Ravinder Singh, AAG, Punjab.
***** JASJIT SINGH BEDI, J. (Oral) The prayer in the present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for quashing of the order dated 04.12.2019 passed by the Court of JMIC, Nakodar in FIR No.21 dated 04.03.2019 under Sections 324, 307, 148, 149 IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959 at Police Station Lohian, Jalandhar Rural, District Jalandhar (Annexure P-4) whereby the petitioner has been declared a proclaimed offender.
None appears on behalf of the petitioner.
The learned counsel for the State has pointed out that three co-accused of the petitioner are facing trial and the case is fixed for 10.10.2022 for recording of prosecution evidence. I have also examined the record. I found that there is absolutely no justification in the petitioner's absconding and subsequently, being declared a proclaimed offender.
In view of the above, I find no merit in the present petition and the same is hereby dismissed.
