Petitioners are seeking protection to their lives and liberty from the hands of respondents No.4 to 6. In the petition, it is alleged that both the petitioners are 19 years of age and they performed marriage on 15.6.2021 against the wishes of respondent No.4 to 6, who are related to petitioner No.1 Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the aforesaid private respondents have threatened to cause harm to both the petitioners and in this

( 2 ) CRWP-5687-2021 regard, representation (Annexure P-4) was given on 16.6.2021 to respondent No.2 but till date no action has been taken by the concerned authority in this regard.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Prabjot Singh Walia, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab. He submitted that the concerned authority will look into the matter and take decision on the representation of the petitioners in accordance with law.

In view of above, without going into merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider representation dated 16.6.2021 (Annexure P-4) and to provide appropriate protection to the petitioners if so warranted. However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners.
