Petitioner Sukhbir Singh has sought invocation under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of private respondents.

CRWP No. 4925 of 2020 (O&M) -2It is well elicited from the records that FIR Annexure P/1 was got registered regarding death of Balbir Singh father of the petitioner for which the petitioner claims that no worth while investigation is being carried out and rather the private respondents and the official respondents are pressurizing the petitioner and his family members to withdraw the same.

The present petition stands disposed off with the direction to respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P-2) within the framework of law preferably within one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Meanwhile, the official respondents shall ensure due protection of life and personal liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of private respondents and shall take prompt and immediate action in accordance with law in case any instance of threat is brought to their notice by the petitioner.
