SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 9, mother, brother and other relatives of petitioner No.1. Affidavits of both the petitioners are on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 26.10.2016 (Annexure P-5) made by the petitioners. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Sandeep Kaur is 16.03.1993 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Amrit Pal is 01.01.1988 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-2). They got married on 26.10.2016. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4.

In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the validity of Sachin Mehta 2016.10.28 13:57 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH

CRM-M-39091-2016 -2marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to look into the representation dated 26.10.2016 (Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law and to ensure the security to the life and liberty of petitioners who are residents of village Khassan, Police Station Bholath, District Kapurthala, where respondents No.4 and 5 are also residing, on receipt of certified copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
