Petitioners who are senior citizens have sought invocation under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking direction for taking action against private respondents no. 4 and 5 and ensuring due protection of life and personal liberty. Notice of motion to official respondents.

Admittedly, the petitioners are in-laws of respondent 4 estranged daughter-in-law who in collusion with her father respondent no. 5 are trying to harass, humiliate and threatening them. Keeping in view all this, the present petition stands disposed off with the direction to respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-4) within the framework of law preferably within one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Meanwhile, the official respondents shall ensure due protection of life and personal liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents and shall take prompt and immediate action in accordance with law in case any instance of threat is brought to their notice by the petitioners.
