Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that Harwinder Singh husband of Baljit Kaur has committed suicide and his wife Baljit Kaur has named so many persons including the husband of petitioners. The entire issue has been politically exploited and now the private respondents with the help of anti-social elements are raiding the house and work places of petitioners and have made their lives miserable. A representation (Annexure P-1) to this effect has been made to Senior Superintendent of Police, Mansa but no action has been taken.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Mansa to look into the representation Annexure P-1, verify the allegations levelled therein and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioners from legal action intended/taken in any civil, criminal or other proceedings initiated/pending against them in accordance with law.
