(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. Short reply by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Dera Baba Nanak, Police District Batala dated 13.7.2021 has been filed, through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record. Along with the reply, statement of Lovepreet Singh-petitioner No. 1 (Annexure R-1/T), got recorded by the Sub Inspector on 09.7.2021, has also been filed, wherein he stated that on 13.6.2021, Gungun Chaurasiapetitioner No. 2 had come to his village and asked him to marry but he refused to do so as she was minor. Thereafter on 25.6.2021, the parents of the girl (petitioner No. 2) had come to his village and taken her away. Similarly, statements of Davinder Singh, Member Panchayat (Annexure R-2/T) and Sukhwinder Kaur, Sarpanch (Annexure R-3/T) have also been recorded wherein they have also stated that on 25.6.2021, the parents of the girl (petitioner No. 2) had taken her away.
