This is a petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.21 dated 26.04.2022 under Sections 406, 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 registered at Police Station Women, District Patiala. 2.

On 27.05.2022 the following order was passed : "Instant petition has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C., seeking grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.21 dated 26.04.2022 registered

CRM-M-22012-2022 - 2 - under Sections 406, 498-A of Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Women, District Patiala (Annexure P-1). Notice of motion in the main case as well as in the application for placing on record additional material as Annexures P-5 and P-6.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Amandeep Singh Gill, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondentState. He is assisted by Mr. Parmod Sharma, Advocate for the complainant.

Counsel representing the private parties are ad idem that there is a possibility of settlement between the parties. They have requested that the matter may be referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court.

Their request is accepted.

Parties are directed to appear before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court on 01.06.2022 at 10.00 a.m.

On the day of their appearance before the Mediation Centre, the petitioner will pay Rs.20,000/- as litigation and travelling expenses to the complainant, which will be a condition precedent to the initiation of mediation proceedings.

List on 05.09.2022 to await the report of learned Mediator.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASITejinder Pal Singh, has stated that the parties have since compromised the matter and that a cancellation report has been prepared and approved and the same has also been accepted by the Court below. 4.
