(Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to respondent No.2 to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is some kind of family dispute between the petitioner and his son and daughter-inlaw i.e. respondents No.6 and 7 and that on account of the said dispute respondents No.4 and 5 who are police officials caused injuries to him at the instance of his son and daughter-in-law i.e. respondents No.6 and 7. Learned counsel in this regard has drawn the attention of this Court to the MLR (Annexure P-2), which indicates that the petitioner had sustained as many as 7 injuries in the nature of abrasions, bruise and pain. - 2 - CRWP-4744-2022 (O&M) Learned counsel has submitted that although he had submitted a representation dated 28.4.2022 (Annexure P-3) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla, but to no avail.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla, to examine the alleged threat perception of the petitioner from respondents No.4 to 7. In case it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps under law be taken thereupon at the earliest. A copy of this order be sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla (respondent No.2) so as to enable him to do the needful at the earliest.
