CORAM:

HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE RITU BAHRI

Present:

Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate for the petitioners.

Ms. Manpreet Dhaliwal, AAG, Punjab.

**** RITU BAHRI, J. (Oral) Present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.9 dated 16.07.2015, under Section 498-A IPC, registered at Police Station NRI Commissionerate, District Jalandhar and order dated 25.02.2016 (Annexure P-2) vide which the petitioner has been declared proclaimed offender, on the basis of compromise dated 26.09.2016 (Annexure P-3).

Brief facts of the case are that marriage between the petitioner and respondent No.2 was solemnized on 29.04.2013. The parents of the complainant had given dowry according to their capacity. Due to incompatibility of temperament, both the parties could not live together as husband and wife. The relationship between them became strained and thereafter, the F.I.R was registered against the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that keeping in view the peace and harmony, the matter has now been amicably settled between the parties with the intervention of respectable persons, vide compromise dated 26.09.2016 (Annexure P-3).
