The petitioners are seeking a direction to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty as they have been threatened and harassed by the private respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners, who are over 18 years of age, are in a live-in-relationship, which is against the will of private respondents and they have an apprehension that the private respondents might cause physical harm to them. She has drawn my attention to the representation dated 21.06.2021 (Annexure P-3) sent by the petitioners to Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala-respondent No.2. Issue notice to respondents No.1 to 3 only at this stage. At the asking of the Court, Mr. Dhruv Dayal, Senior DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case and keeping in view the limited prayer of the petitioner, the petition is disposed of

CRWP-5843-2021 -2- --------------- with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into the representation dated 21.06.2021 (Annexure P-3) and take steps, if necessary, in accordance with law to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners.
