The petitioner prays for grant of pre-arrest bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 129 dated 06.06.2020, registered under Section 7 & 13(1) (b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at Police Station City-1, Sangrur, District Sangrur.

At the relevant time, the petitioner was posted as the Deputy Superintendent, Jail (Maintenance). The allegations are that the petitioner demanded amount from the persons detained in the prison. The Inspector General of Police, Headquarters, Jails, Punjab, has conducted the investigation in which the petitioner was also associated. During the Investigation, the petitioner has given a statement admitting presence of his voice in the audio recording while demanding amount from a relative of the prisoner..

Criminal Misc. No. M- 19631 of 2020 Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, no ground is made out to grant pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Hence, the present petition is dismissed.
