(Oral) This is a petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. seeking pre-arrest bail to the petitioner in a case registered against him vide FIR No.83 dated 11.10.2017 under Section 420 IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Human Trafficking Prevention Act, at Police Station Rajpura, District Patiala. Complaint, in the present case, was lodged by one Ranjit Singh. He alleged that petitioner had taken Rs.12 lacs from him on the pretext of sending his son Gursewak Singh to Cyprus. As the petitioner took no steps, the complainant asked the money be returned, however, he refused to do so. Petitioner approached the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala, for pre-arrest bail, however, same was declined. Present petition was, thus, preferred before this court.

During the pendency of the present petition, a compromise is stated to have arrived at between the parties. As a result thereof, two Sukhpreet Kaur 2018.03.08 15:54 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document cheques of Rs.5 lacs each were handed over to the complainant. However,

during the proceedings, both the cheques bounced. In view of the same no case for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner is made out. Petition is without any merit and is hereby dismissed.
