This is a petition filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking pre-arrest bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 78 dated 05.08.2016 under sections 420, 406, 174 IPC at Police Station Punjab Agriculture University, Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has paid a draft of Rs. 3.00 lacs which has been handed-over to counsel for the complainant. Photocopy thereof has been placed on record as mark 'A'. Admittedly, Rs. 5.00 lacs have been remitted to the complainant during the pendency of this petition. According to learned State counsel, pursuant to order dated July 14, 2017, petitioner has joined the investigation and no longer required for custodial interrogation.
