LISA GILL, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks the concession of anticipatory bail in FIR No. 69 dated 21.08.2017 under Sections 406/498-A IPC registered at Police Station Women Cell, Ludhiana.

It is informed that the matter has been amicably resolved between the parties before the Mediation & Conciliation Centre of this Court on 23.01.2018. The petitioner as well as respondent No.2, it is submitted, undertake to abide by the terms and conditions of the settlement. Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that his client has no objection in case this petition is allowed subject to strict adherence to the terms and conditions of the settlement by the petitioner. Crl. Misc. No. M-39109 of 2017 [ 2 ] criminal case. There is no allegation on behalf of the State that the petitioner is likely to abscond.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case especially the settlement between the parties but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, it is considered just and expedient to allow this petition.

Consequently, in the event of arrest of the petitioner, he be released on bail to the satisfaction of the Arresting/investigating Officer. The petitioner shall join investigation as and when called upon to do so. Petitioner shall comply with the conditions stipulated in Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
