ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.1 has performed marriage with petitioner No.2 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance. Notice of motion.

Ms. Harpreet Kaur, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has further submitted that a representation dated 10.09.2018 was made to the Superintendent of Police, Panipat (Annexure P4), seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has further submitted that petitioner No.1 - Bimla was previously married to one Akhilesh MOHD YAKUB 2018.09.12 16:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M No.40042 of 2018 and by way of a customary divorce on 06.05.2018, she has parted away with her former husband.

Heard.

Though, the Court cannot give any observation with regard to such divorce obtained by petitioner No.1, however, considering the fact that the limited scope of the present petition is for providing protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners, who alleges that they have subsequently performed marriage and have given a representation (Annexure P4) to respondent No.2, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Panipat to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P4) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances, for the limited purpose of providing protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners.

However, it is clarified that nothing observed in this order shall have any bearing on any subsequent matrimonial proceedings, in case, initiated by ex-husband of petitioner No.1 namely Akhilesh and the same, if any, will be decided, in accordance with law.
