(Oral) The petitioners i.e. Jyoti aged 32 years and Suraj aged 35 years has approached this Court seeking issuance of direction to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 6.

Notice of motion.

At this stage, Ms. Sheenu Sura, DAG, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of State and appeared in the Court. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner No.1 Jyoti was married to respondent No.4 Gogi who was a drunkard and was addicted to intoxicants and used to frequently beat petitioner No.1 which constraint petitioner No.1 to leave her matrimonial home. - 2 - CRWP-5890-2021 (O&M) left the matrimonial home and she started residing with petitioner No.2 whome she knew since long. It has been submitted that the private respondents are somehow not accepting the said arrangement and have been threatening to cause harm to the petitioners. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Superintendent of Police, Hisar, to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 24.6.2021 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to lives and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.

4 to 6, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 24.6.2021 be sent to Superintendent of Police, Hisar (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
