(ORAL) The primary relief sought by the petitioner in the writ petition is to issue direction to the respondents to finalize the seniority list of Constable (Drivers) as per Rule 12.2 of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934 applicable to Haryana and further promote the petitioner as Head Constable (Driver) w.e.f. 30.06.2017 i.e. the date from which his juniors are promoted along with all consequential benefits.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State has placed on record order dated 15.01.2021, which would reflect that petitioner herein has been given deemed date of promotion as Head Constable w.e.f. 30.06.2017 and has subsequently been promoted as Assistant Sub-Inspector from 10.08.2019.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner would submit that he has no instructions in the matter and in fact, he seeks an adjournment to file replication.

In view of the order order dated 15.01.2021, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition, considering the fact that the relief sought by the petitioner has been granted to the petitioner herein. Consequently, the instant petition stands disposed of, as having been rendered infructuous. However, in case the relief sought by the petitioner has not been granted to him, he would be at liberty to either approach the respondent-department for redressal of his grievance or approach this Court by way of filing writ petition.
