(Oral) Present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.33 dated 22.02.2016, under Sections 363, 366 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar, District Tarn Taran. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners has placed on record the copy of compromise deed dated 04.03.2017, which has been duly signed by both the parties.

As per compromise deed, Jarnail Singh (petitioner No.1) and Neelima (respondent No.3) have performed a run away marriage against the wishes of respondent No.2 and thereafter they have sought a protection of their life and liberty from this Court by filing CRM-M-6909-2016 and the same has been granted to them, vide order dated 25.02.2016, by this Court. Moreover, the complainant has no objection, if the present FIR registered Naresh Kumar 2017.04.07 17:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh against the petitioners is quashed.

CRM-M-40251-2016 -2Keeping in view the fact that both the parties have compromised the matter with their own free will, consent and without any pressure and in view of the judgments of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Dr. Arvind Barsaul etc. Vs. State of Madhya Pradesh and another, 2008(2) RCR (Criminal) 910; Madan Mohan Abbot Vs. State of Punjab, 2008(2) RCR (Criminal) 429 and the law laid down by the Full Bench of this Court in the case of Kulwinder Singh and Ors. vs. State of Punjab and another, 2007(3) RCR (Crl.) 1052, no useful purpose would be served in prolonging the litigation.

Accordingly, FIR No.33 dated 22.02.2016, under Sections 363, 366 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar, District Tarn Taran are hereby quashed, on the basis of compromise deed dated 04.03.2017. The present petition stands disposed of.
